The prime goals of the day are reaching first-time visitors and offering opportunities for families to experience traditional and non-traditional types of outdoor activities.
We are celebrating National Get Outdoors Day on June 10, 2017 at Lake Sammamish State Park and everyone is invited. Whether you're new to the area or a long time resident, you are welcome to join us for GO Expo-Expand Your Playlist to learn more about the best that the northwest has to offer.
Our spectacular Washington landscapes are legendary, but fewer people know about how vibrant and varied our communities are, including how we express ourselves in so many different types of outdoor recreation.
Our region is growing faster now than at any time in the last 100 years. With 82,000 new residents moving to the Puget Sound in the last year alone. GO Expo - Expand Your Playlist will have a jubilant and festive atmosphere, with live bands, singing and dancing that incorporates many cultures.
The Washington State Parks Foundation is co-hosting this event with the Friends of Lake Sammamish State Park and we providing free access to the public and the 50 nonprofit and agency partners who are participating.
We seek your support to cover added costs for the live music, transportation costs for car-less community members and to provide logistical support, recycling and composting. You can see all of the great classes and music acts at our online schedule.
